WHAT IS THE GALAPAGOS RESEARCH LAB
We are a team of scientists dedicated to studying this unique archipelago's biodiversity and evolutionary history. Our focus is to:
- Conduct field research in the Galapagos Islands, studying the evolutionary processes that have shaped the island's wildlife.
- Utilize state-of-the-art genomic techniques and bioinformatics tools to analyze genetic, ecological, and phylogenetic data.
- Collaborate with a diverse group of students and researchers, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to evolutionary biology research and conservation.
- Share these findings through publications, conferences, and outreach, contributing to the broader understanding of evolution and conservation of these islands.

We focus on understanding how biodiversity is generated and maintained with a special emphasis on the link between molecules and phenotype |
"New uses for old collections": specimens stored at the California Academy of Sciences are used to study historical changes with present and future importance |
Using the latest technology in genetic data generation we are producing genomes and genetic barcodes from Galapagos species both in the US and on the islands |
